Thanks for letting me know tnchickenut... I think I'd prefer eggs over shipping chickens from California... LOL she was wanting $20 per pullet and ~$60 for shipping and can only put 2-3 in a box... So, yeah, I think I'd spend more on getting those than hatching eggs in the spring time!
Thanks - yep a little steep for me right now. I really do NEED to wait until spring, but's it's soooo hard.

Personally I like eggs, but if the lines were good, $60 for shipping is GREAT. Usually shipping is about $90 per bird. They must be young, or they are bantam aren't they? Another advantage to bantams.

But try eggs. You can do it!!!

She said they were a project of hers, so I dunno what kind of quality they are... I wasn't saying that I was against the amount of shipping she was asking, BUT I don't have that kind of money laying around... I think I'll have to wait for spring, right now isn't the best time I guess to be looking for eggs/chicks, everyone is going to be low and demand is just high enough the price is up... I'll wait when the "over abundance" happens and prices are a bit more flexible to "bid" on.

I understand. Like I would love to get a Sulmtaler pullet or two but I don't have the money now. I would have if I didn't get my hung by my hair in a machine, but now I have to pretty much wait for almost everything until spring (or the end of this legal battle). I really SHOULDN'T have got the Olandsk Dwarfs, but their size is why I'm getting away with it. lol

I sent you his email that he sent me about prices and getting chics. He had some chics someone didn't pick up. He raises Orpingtons (blue, black and splash), Barnevelders and Black and Blue Copper Marans. He also raises Bantams (Plymouth Rocks, Partridge and Orpingtons). I want some chickens from him, but we decided we didn't want to do chics until spring due to having to move all chickens around to accomodate.
