Neat pens. When I volunteered for an animal rescue several years ago my DH made fence panels with PVC and zip-tied welded wire fence on them. I could make different sizes and for a woman they where light weight and easy to move around.

Good gracious...I just looked at those plans. I consider myself mechanically inclined, but those are "interesting" plans to say the least. Talking about the "narrower option". I would have to build that one by the picture instead, LMAO

See? There you go, shooting too high. I was planning on the "simple" plan, and I was going to have to just use the pictures on that one.

I got two Orp pullet eggs for you today and one SLW. Let's hope they keep up the good work.

Yeah! I am getting excited about this hatch! Anyone else on this thread doing the BYC's New Year Day Hatch or am I the only crazy one?

Tennesseckn, We just replace the kids trampoline and you are welcome to have the old one. I have seen some interesting poultry pens made out of the trampoline and often just wrapped my trampoline with wire for the chicks to free range safely this past spring. Here is a sample design link...

Tennesseeckn gets first dibs on the trampoline (because she enables my chicken addiction), but if she isn't interest it is free for the taking. It is still in working order, we just replace the it with one that had a net around the top.

Also, I would like to try the Freedom Rangers with you! That hatchery is only about 2 hours from where I grew up in PA

I think I'm going to pass. Thanks for thinking of me, though. I just want something I can break down. I might put a nice hardware cloth skirt around the one the kids are using now, though.

Anyone know of any flemish giant rabbit breeders in the area? I was pitching the whole rabbit idea and she actually seemed interested.

I think there are several around here, I'll ask my friend who's been showing mini lops for several years and knows everyone!

quick question though, why flemish giant? If you don't mind me asking...

Storage? Who needs storage?!?! That's room for one more breed right there. I'm picturing silkies...

LOL, because DW wont let me keep the feed in her pantry

The lawnmower already had to move outside under tarp. I want to build overhang off shed for it, but am afraid it would be awful easy to wire that for a small run. You see my dilemma

Ahhhhh...very good point there....it is what happen to our space.

To appease DH though I had a 10 ft wing built onto the stables when I built them...even concreted part of it. I think he is much happier now.

Got the bantams wormed today...but it was really a chore. I had trouble getting it to stay under the skin. It would leak out some when I removed the needle...silkies skin is really hard to work with. I hope it will maybe work like the pour on wormer does and absorb into the skin.
I reached into my cage that has a Partridge roo and SG....the roo grabbed my finger and would not let go!! Never thought him to be so protective. And they say silkies are sooooooo sweet and calm...... pfffff

Good thing he is too beautiful to become stew. Going to tackle the LF tomorrow since I will have help. I actually had feathers and straw sticking out of my hair when I came back inside.

My silkies are laying:celebrate Going to start checking fertility in a few days. Still looking for a blue silkie roo if anyone knows of one!!
