I have noticed a typo in the Oxine instructions for adding to drinking water. If you are using it for that purpose, please adjust your dilution to 1/8th teaspoon to each gallon of water. This dilution is effective and safe for all animals as their drinking water

Did you buy a huge amount of Oxine? I need to buy some... I can't afford $40 right now though..

That is odd that you mentioned that. Last week I went to the coop to get wormer. I had 4 items written down that were suggested on this site. I got three (wormer, spray for bugs, etc). I had oxine written down, but couldn't find it. Tell me what it looks like.

You will have to order it...no one carries. M-town TSC us trying but no looking promising. You have to buy a gallon around $47-52. I found a site that has it in quart form. I think I gave $27 for it..will try to find the site and post it. If you are close to me I can sell you a small bottle. Believe me...it goes a LONG way.

I got my eggs from James Meeks in Cleveland (he is know for his Meeks Line Blue & Splash Langshan), I bought an incubator from him and he gave me 18 various eggs from his different breeds. But BYCer - oldfort_mailman (Chris) also in Cleveland, also has breeds SS. He works with James with his Langshan project. If you want I can PM you both their phone #'s. Both super nice guys and very reputable breeders. Matter fact, James is VERY strict about his biosecurity. Neither would mind you calling them at all.
As for me, these are my first 3 SS. I didn't set out wanting to work with or breed these but just happened to be some that ended up hatching. Not ready to let them go yet, but we'll see, I would like a hen or two.

I will order enough for anyone to have a quart if you can tell me now if you want it that way. If I order it all tomorrow it will take about a week to get here. I can probably find some nice quart containers that seal at Walmart and divide it that way. Probably looking at 12-15 a quart. Maybe cheaper depending on how many gallons I order at a time or if I use gallon water jugs instead of buying containers.

Um, don't see the ad on CL, if Chris or James it would say Cleveland. As far as I know neither had any hens. I will PM you both their numbers.

Oh I found it and YES that is James. I can quarantee they are beautiful healthy birds. He is the one that will no let you back to his breeding pens etc. Super super nice guy. haha - just might have to call him myself, would like a couple more hens.

Hey Pam - Ooltewah here. Welcome. Glad you are here. Like I've commented before I kind of feel like we are right smack dap in the middle of both "eastern" & "middle" TN threads. Um, maybe we should also have a Chattanooga Area/Northwest Georgia thread group.??
