Terry... I awoke this am to find an easter egger feet up on the floor. No signs of anything at all and she had just started laying a week ago. Im going to do an autopsy and see if she was egg bound...but she was not swollen that I could tell. I know it was not an animal because I have a 1 day old chick in the brooder part of the coop and she was alive and happy this morning....she would be very easy to get to if it was an animal.

@Amy - That poor man seems way overworked! I must not let wife see this post ... Good luck with the pond. You might want to look at the duck forums to get advice from people who have successfully filtered a duck pond.

@Tigeura Does that quack mean you are a fellow member of the duck-side?

@tcn- Ducks are easier and hardier. This past couple days of nothing but rain? Hah, my ducks thought it was paradise.

I've now got one of my ducks jumping for tomato treats. Her jump is only 2-3 inches but still funny.

tennesseeckn - One of the Austrolorps I got from you has a red comb now! I will be searching for eggs now!

Egg bound means that the chicken maybe trying to pass an egg and it can't. It's like the egg is stuck and can't come out. I see you are in LC, me too! We may be neighbors.
I live off 321 right at the Blount County/Loudon County line. It is perfect. I can get to Maryville in 15 minutes, Lenoir City in 10 minutes and Turkey Creek in 20 minutes. My husband talked me into moving here (rather than him moving to NC) by telling me he was 10 minutes from sushi. lol

I already bought valbazen for my chicken and our dogs. But if someone needs me to go in with them to get oxine, I'd be happy to. If you need me to mail you some cash so you don't have the cost up front, get me an address. I'd be happy to pitch in with everyone.

And someone mentioned a web site where you could get oxine in smaller doses. Would you mind posting that for future reference?
I was the one...I am trying to find the site I got it from...but...I came across this site thru Amazon....it is only 24.95 for a gallon! Looks like the shipping is around $7 if you go to the shipping page. Will keep looking for the site I got mine from....guess I need to do a serious cleaning in my bookmarks. Will keep you posted
