littlechicklet, my guess is the closest to camera is pullet, the 2 in the middle for sure cockerels, and the one on the end is the only questionable one but I'm for now leaning towards cockerel and it being older than the 2 in the middle...

thanks stang. I am going to stay in denial for at least another week. These are my first English type Orps so I am just guessing and I am still not certain on one of the EEs yet. I guess it will have to crow before I know for sure. BTW I wonder if the EE pullet will lay this year or if it will not be until the Spring?

I'm going to bring the bad news.... it's rare, but hens can crow.

ETA... they should lay this year. They both look like hens to me.... look for the saddle and hackle feathers, or sex feathers. Combs are hard on EEs if you ask me sometimes

Oh wait... looked again at pic.... the other one does have a bit of a rooster hackle. Hard to tell from far away to be sure.

I forgot all about that but as long as roosters can't lay eggs I will be able to eventually tell.

Hello littlechicklet I'm no pro but I have noticed that my EO cockerels have way less feathering on their bums. It shouldn't be long before you see the combs come about.

Looks like two black pullets and two blue boys, would NOT put money on it. Most of my girls Orps feathered in really fast in the tail area. I think I had a sneeky one last year that I couldn't figure out until 4months and it ended up being a girl.

Not sure about the EE's, but my amercauna I hatched on New years day still isn't laying.

I can also be a little slow at times! These 2 white EEs are really hard for me to tell. I will see if I have any pics of the white EE cockerel but he may be from a different hen. He was easy to tell. These 2 do not have any of the roo feathers yet & the one that looks more cockerel has a lighter comb.

These are a few weeks to a month old but he is 3 weeks older than the 2 white ones in question. Also a pic of a red one that is the same age & a cockerel.

Here's one of the white ones (same age in pic as red one)
