Oh Lordy! We do not have the same thought there... I don't want to admit the $ I put on hatching eggs shipped in. I prefer hatching eggs actually... people only sell culls, hatching eggs gives you the same chance at a better bird as they have.

I thought those cochin eggs were a steal!!!
yeah, I had my fingers on the number key pads ready to put my bid in... and I got cold feet.. I've never had eggs shipped, and I'm afraid of the "luck" I might get and it ruin my experience... I swear, I've gotten eggs from people and they're always delivered by someone I trust... otherwise their hatchery quality... and the ones I hatch I get mostly cocks, seriously! only 1 pullet each time, the rest are ALWAYS cockerels (or it seems that way when I get small batches)!

You know what it is? Your temp is too high. Do you run high? Boys are hardier and if you have alot of boys, the incubation was off (usually high) and only or mostly the boys survived to the end. Seriously.

Now, go, bid. Stop being scared. (I'm kidding, but there is nothing to be scared of.... most of my birds came from shipped hatching eggs) You are seriously hindering the breeds you could have. I don't have patience to find locals with what I want often... and then other times I HAVE to get the eggs to get what I want. Like true DUTCH Barnevelders in the US... only one place, Farmer Johan in Conneticut. He only sells hatching eggs. So what do you do? You want them bad enough, you pay him $70 for a dozen plus shipping and do your best.

Hi everyone, my name is Ayslen (pronounced Ace-lynn), I am not from eastern TN, but I live on the border of middle and eastern, in White County. I just thought I would join this thread and get to know some more people close by, I am also a member of the middle TN thread but thought since some counties in Eastern TN are so close I should join this thread also. For anyone that wants to know, I sell Self Blue (Lavender) Bantam Cochin Hatching Eggs and Self Blue Mottled Split Bantam Cochin Hatching Eggs....and this coming spring I will be interested in buying Cream Legbar, Swedish Flower Hen, and Bantam and Standard Cochin Hatching eggs.

HELLO!!

So you can help Stang out with some Cochin eggs and then they don't have to be shipped, huh? STANG!!!!

I have SFHs as do some others here (see my avatar... baby Swedes). I don't breed the other's you listed, but seems like someone here has Cream Legbar... can't remember exactly.

Anyways, you are welcome here... we don't bite.
