Thanks. These are the hardest I had to try to sex. The red ones & one white/black male was easy. I think I will try for more of this color next year. I hope to get one to go broody in the Spring so I can try again.
An older gentleman chicken buddy of mine looked at my black ameracuana.....I knew he was interested in it. He tickles me...He can always talk me out of the chicken that he wants. Anyway...he said that you look at the comb. If it goes half way over the eye it is a pullet...more than that a roo. Yes....he bought the little black one. Actually I have had so many black chickens I just don't like the color anymore. So he is tickled to have a buddy for the other ones he talked me out of. It was a double cudos for me....his son came and is buying my foal...I had to really lower the price but I don't like over wintering foals and I really want to get these horses sold and get past the heartbreak of selling them.

O....M.....G....I love it. Dh would have a stroke if I bought it considering they still have not settled their contract at work. Now if I could get my 2 other horses sold I would have the mula. Do you have a lay away plan?? Really..that is nice.

HAHA! Yup, see what I mean? I have stuff worth buying, it's just one of those things where I never have it for sale at the right time! I do have interest in our 7.4 acres of land though, so if that is all I can sell this year, or next, so be it! A house, instead of a tract of land we don't even use, is so much more worth the lack of selling anything else I own..

I heard the same is true with Langshans.. That if the comb comes past where the eye is it's a cockerel

yep..thats her, LOL

Terry, did you give him a call and let him know he can have that roo? Tell him I'll have to catch up with him maybe Friday or Saturday.
Yep....you have been at all the shows and can spot me pretty easily.
Mr. Ellis came over this evening to look at my black am. that he hinted wanting to buy. He really tickles me. He looked at mine from you and got so excited. He has your number and probably called this evening...believe me..he will not give up til you call him back or answer. He is afraid something will happen to it. I told him you know I would tie your thumbs behind you back if it disappears but assured him it was his. He is meeting me to go look at some chickens Sat. I think he said he has even driven by your house. He is a very nice man and I have seen few people get so excited about chickens like he does. He and I met in physical therapy when he had a hip replacement. You will like him.

Ok just a little bit of info. Did you know that one of the last people in the 90's to have true saipan jungle fowl was a lady in TN by the name Hazel Matthews. Just thought it was cool. And that most people that have them now got their birds from her.
