Easy cheap ER coop ideas?

Instead, use a tarp to make a side wall off the frame that's supporting the cover. Not closing it off completely, but just blocking the wind/rain in the area next to the coop.

Totally agree - the run next to the coop seems like a nice big structure - you can add some perch (t-posts and 2x2's, cable ties) inside, and if you can persuade them all to go into the area for the night, (wrapped with tarp to block the wind/rain) You'll have a 7x~7 coop turned from run! Perhaps some bales of hay in the run will also help.
