Eat it or Throw it Away?

nope no organ meat for me....

I have always wondered about cow liver tho.... how can something that filters the impurities out of the cows blood be healthy for you to eat?... I would think it would be loaded with toxins... but mom always said it was good for you so eat it... (I fed it to the dog)

I know tongue is not organ meat but I have eaten it... it was chewy

From a healthy animal, the liver can be rather good for you - an animal that hasn't been fed antibiotics, growth hormones, and one that hasn't been fattened up on corn or other un-natural diet.

I have gone through stages of cravings for liver, onion and bacon, the last time happened the day before my daughter was born, I was sitting in a restaurant at the time having contractions

I got a couple of hours sleep and went into full blown labor at 3am

I believe my body actually needed the liver with all the nutrients and extra iron.

ok you can have my share then....lol

i am a picky eater though i wont eat deer, moose, bear ..ect.. you get the point

beef, chicken, limited pork products, and fish..again ;limited species

Oh cry me a liver.

The insides are the best part!!! Cow liver sandwich, boiled turkey kindeys, fried gizzards and I eat the butter too! A little cat spit never hurt anyone.

They now say that trans fats from margarine are worse than saturated fats in butter. If it has the word Hydrogenated in it, I don't eat it. I made my husband switch peanut butter to get the trans fat out of his life. Also just because it says 0g trans fat per serving does not mean it is trans fat free.

I would cut off the licked on portion and use the rest.

Organ meats I have tried but don't like.

Just when I think I have the whole Fat/Sat Fat and Trans Fat thing figured out, someone throws a wrench in it... lol.

I would not eat the butter, I would however feed it to my loved ones.

I do eat organs liver and chicken hearts

Would you eat a cookie that landed on the floor?

yes i would eat a cookie that landed on the floor ! LOL especially since cookies are few and far inbetween cuz of the DD (4&5 years old) haha!

i too would eat the butter.. eh no biggie..

The cookie would depend on the condition of the floors. Most days I have a 5 second rule and will eat it anyway, as long as I can beat the pack of dogs to it.

Some days even I can't do it.

I think it's about how many dogs have been naughty in the house.

And whether or not I have swept, or mopped, the floors anytime in the recent past. In my defense I do make a killer cookie with lots of butter.

My son and I once won grand prize in a cookie baking contest.
