Eating and drinking, lethargic and skinny.. I've been reading on here for weeks and no change in Gig

I did a round of wormer for those little ...worms. It's just my polish doing it. My buff lace has no problems at all just these gold laced. No swollen joints but it's eyelids close on me when I'm inspecting...about like a cat getting its belly rubbed. Wings are dropped and it's crop feels good and healthy, empty in evenings. It will run around a few paces then stop to sleep!

A fecal float to look for worms and coccidia may be in order if you can take in some fresh droppings from the sick polish. They may also be able to get a gram stain to look for bacteria and enteritis. Coccidiosis can resemble other diseases by the weakness it causes. Corid which treats cocci should be given 2 tsp of the liquid Corid, or 1 1/2 tsp of the powder Corid per gallon, for 7 days. Pictures sometimes are helpful for us to pick up some signs. Mold in feed which may produce an odd chemical odor or a blue-green color, can cause neurological symptoms. If you have another death, a necropsy should be performed by your state vet or poultry lab, to look for Marks or other diseases. Bodies should be promptly refrigerarted and shipped on ice.

I would do it again. I know in dogs we have rescued it sometimes takes 3 rounds of wormer to get all the life stages. And if the little one had it, it would be easier for her to reinfest herself, due to her compromised immune system, and it is so easily transmitted from them eating off the ground. Also I have Heatlyfock tabs that are probiotics for chickens, etc. If her gut is out of wack she can't digest anything.

I think they are eating something poisonous... today it's acting fine... and it's been raining so they've been cooped up. I've wondered if there's lead paint but with all these flies I'm really worried it's botulism. Still tho it's just this one polish and the dead one and they came from the same eggs the breeder hatched. They were shipped eggs tho. There's no one here to help me with chickens but I talked to a neighbor down the road who has some and he's never heard of anything like it. I think the closed place for me to ship is Nashville. I don't even know how to go about shipping a dead bird and honestly if this one dies I'm done with polish regardless of my love for them. I wonder what's going on but we've never had any problems with our others and they are going on 3yrs old

I MAY HAVE FIGURED IT OUT!??! Went to the coop to lock it up and turn off the lights n tuck my babies in for the night and Flossy aka Chief (largest and most mature buff polish) was straight wailing on Figet. Pecking it's head then grabbed on and jerked him/her around. I've got my other breeds separated but with these two polish I've got lav americaunas (youngins) and 3 white silkies. The polish were hatched together so the pecking order should be situated. Flossy ran right over to Figet and attacked! I suspect brain injury .... they are separated now.

That Meanie!
I'm glad you figured it out and are able to stop it before the meanie hurts more.
Congrats.

Gosh I hope this fixes the problem! All I need is a mean rooster! I got attacked by my big beautiful Rhode Island Red yesterday and I'm about ready to snap some necks! Everyone else is sweet as can be. Flossy has always been wild acting even as a couple weeks old I could almost never catch it in the brooder and even then he screamed like a lunatic

I'm so tickled you directed me to those posts! Also may I add my beloved cat is named Kiki! She's more like a dog, I rescued her and she's declawed but boy is she one heck of a mouser! Anyways my grandma is smiling down on me getting the ol switch out! LOL! I use a tobacco stick to shoo em around and I've got him back to being a good boy! Thank u so much because I was already contemplating the auction for his pretty self.
