I am getting 3 eggs a day now, out of 7 chickens. They all are about 18 weeks.
The older of the 2 leghorns goes into the nest box everyday, and sits there for about 30 minutes. When I see her back outside, I go check to see if this is the day she will lay an egg? There is nothing there. This has been going on for about a week now.
If a chicken is an egg eater, does she eat ALL the eggs in the nest boxes, the one she sits in and the other boxes?? Because I still have the other thens eggs when I get home at night from work. But only one white one and it is, I am sure, from my other leghorn.
Or is she just not ready, and still practicing for the big event??
