Eating fertililized eggs

I am more interested in how anyone can hold an ethical view against meat eating & still eat eggs. How can that be rationalized at all? I am all fascinated in the realities of behaving in a manner consistent with an ethical position.

Disclosure: I used to be vegetarian for health reasons (and I told everyone "health reasons", so that I could lapse from time and pig out on pate!
