Eating Spicy?

My chickens for some reason like to eat my spicy plants, all the leaves have been bitten off and all peppers are no where to be seen. I dont know if it could possibly be my chickens doing, or some other pests eating it off.

Chickens can’t taste spicy, so it was probably them

A friend of mine swears by putting cayenne pepper into her chicken feed to keep the rodents from eating it!

Yup! They don't taste the hot like we do.

Birds don't taste capsaicin like mammals do, so they have little issue eating even scorching hot peppers.
