Ebay egg question...what would you do?

If the rest of them hatch out dark colored, the seller did not send you what was described in the auction. Ebay and PayPal have rules against that. Great hatch rate.. I hope she just mixed up an order.

I have ordered lots of eggs on E Bay. It depends on the seller, but a refund is in order. I would leave a neg feed back, so others could avoid the same problem. Your eggs are only as good as the sellers reputation. You should get what you pay for. Having said that......you got a great hatch rate.

just my .02

Best of luck

So hows the rest of the hatch? I would not leave neg. feedback without first giving the seller a chance to make it right. Let them know you will be forced to leave neg. feedback if things are not set right. Don't jumped the gun, you can't take it back, if it is an honest mistake.

As of now there are 3 hatched....2 are the black color and one is all yellow. One of the black ones is considerably smaller than the first one.
I will be sending the seller an email tonight to try to work something out. They are chicks, and they are super cute, but they are not what I ordered!
I will try to get pictures later, and we can play "What in the world do I have?"

Based on the other egg auctions the seller has up at this time....I am thinking that the black babies may be black australorps.

Maybe the packages just got swapped. If it is the person with both breeds who is listing now, she has terrific feedback. Think positively. I'm betting that a legitimate seller will make it right.

5 out now....2 are yellow and 3 are black.
I did send an email to the seller with pictures.
I am not upset in any way about it, just disappointed cuz I really wanted the Delawares!

As from what I could tell she was an excellent seller. I did send her an email last night to let her know what had taken place. She sent a reply and said that she was very sorry and did not know how it happened cuz they keep the birds and eggs seperated. Rather than a refund she is going to send me more eggs.....should be going out in the mail on Monday. Thanks for all the input and support.

So, do you have room for more chickens? I know everyone here goes "oh goody, more chicks" but it would be a problem for me with my limited space.

No PROBLEM - - - just sell what you don't want. If they were Black australorps - - - you shouldn't have any trouble getting rid of them. . . . Nice birds though - -- you may want to keep all the chickies.

Now you have diversity in your flock
