In that case I wouldn't want to encourage paper eating of any kind if they were my animals.

Romaine lettuce, Cabbage, weeds etc.I'm pondering now if i just stuff the toys with shredded carrots lol
Dear god, they have a romaine lettuce treat ball and it frightens me how quickly they eat it and nearly take my hand off.Romaine lettuce, Cabbage, weeds etc.
Because they fight over the last of the nubbin and try to swallow it hole while on the run from each other and choke. Also, they eat it in 60 seconds. in the treat ball, it takes them awhile to get all the lettuce out of there. Keeps them busy. Not sure why you don't just toss a head of romaine lettuce on the ground for them?
Cut it off..A head of purple Cabbage is great.Because they fight over the last of the nubbin and try to swallow it hole while on the run from each other and choke. Also, they eat it in 60 seconds. in the treat ball, it takes them awhile to get all the lettuce out of there. Keeps them busy.
So for the winter i'm doing the coop in the deep litter method with hay bedding, and they love foraging in the hay, but they don't seem to eat it much.I would be concerned about them eating too much paper and possibly causing a blockage in there digestive tract, As @chickens really said, Treats would be a better way to keep them occupied, My ducks go crazy for fodder.
