EDIT - PICS ADDED Silver Laced Wyandottes
Granted the newly added photos are not real clear or close up, but I do not see any cockerels YET.
Hope not as well but that's what it seemed like to me...I haven't seen any in their brooder.
I hope not! But thank you!
I'll have to keep my fingers and toes crossed and repost better pictures then. Thank you!
I do not see any of the new photos.Hopefully I added better pics!
They should be in the first post.I do not see any of the new photos.
Mine looks the same and no one can tell me if Hilda is Henry? I think we're going to be waiting a while!I can post pictures later but they're hunkered down for the night.
We bought 3 silver laced wyandotte pullets from Rural King. They're, maybe 5 weeks, I'm not 100% sure. Everything is blurring together time wise lately (I have 4 kids in virtual schooling from 6th grade to kindergarten and am losing my mind!).
All three of them have very bright pink combs. Please, someone tell me that silver laced wyandotte pullets HAVE bright combs when they're really young. I could understand if I got straight run and got all cockerels, but if I got pullets and got all cockerels, I'm going to be raging. Thanks for your help!
ETA: They aren't great pics but I grabbed a couple. See tiny little Hedwig there? She's the same age as the ones around her.
to me, Hilda looks like a Henry...Mine looks the same and no one can tell me if Hilda is Henry? I think we're going to be waiting a while!
While the comb is looking reddish along with thick legs, I wouldn't jump the gun. I'm not seeing white wing bars that males often have either. It's a bit too young to accurately sex No one is screaming cockerel yet though. If you're desperate and cannot wait a week or two, bird DNA tests apparently give you results within five days. I wouldn't personally because these breeds can be visually sexed within a few weeks, but if you're urgently needing genders it's a possibility
