Can't say as I have. I have some walnuts that need cracking before making cookies though. Around here it's usually chocolate chip, sugar, or oatmeal cookies

Yummy soup. I had turkey and rice soup.

My hens roost in mostly open air situation with just a plywood roof over their head. The rest is open. I went out the other night to see what the ruckus was with them. Most weren't even on their protective area roost but on the granite rock in their coop. The ruckus was a deer near their coop. Two or three are still in molt.

A light at night will do more harm than good I'm afraid.

Yummy! If you did a light you would want it on a timer and only like 15-20min after sunset
Or you could wait until it gets cold and lock them in for a couple weeks and reacquaint them with 'home'

Yeah, I think I'm just going to rig a "door" to the hen house part so I can close them in for a while until they get the hang of it. Whadda pain....

For sure. Was thinking about you last night as I heard all the girls settling in for the night. They definitely get to fighting for their spots

Yup - and this group does that as well. I knew I wanted to force them to sleep inside tonight because it's going down to 35F (updated forecast) and a few are so bare, and they roost in a breezeway, essentially. Great for 90% of the year here, but tough when it's cold...

Hope they do well in the cold. My NN are in a greenhouse situation with stacked 5 gallon buckets of water for a heat sink. They'll go in between them or roost on them at night.

I just about did the same. There was one on broody hens, how it got there with the bows I never know

Little rain left. Won't quite make the inch but it's good to have.

Thanks. How much snow did you get? We received 5/8 of an inch of rain. Tried to get stuff done in between down pours but my timing was off getting soaked.

Only enough to disguise the grass. Then it stopped. We will get more. I don't need it to hurry!
