EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

They sleep decent. Not at the same time but yes we usually get the first sleep cycle of the night for about a 4 hour stretch. After that its about every hour one of them is up for something. It's critical that when they first go down you immediately drop everything and close your eyes for the long??? stretch.
I wondering if they would both sleep at the same time. That's nice of them to at least give you a couple hours off from both of them.

Need help? I have 2 different batches in the incubator. A week or so apart. I'm coming up on lock doe. And don't know what to do. Some eggs need to be locked down and more humidity and some need lower humidity and to be kept turned. Any suggestions?
Can you borrow a 2nd 'bator?

Quote: Two of my GD's, by DIL's first marriage, are identical twins. They were pre-teens when I first met them, & I couldn't tell them apart for a few years. Being 800 miles from them, rather than seeing them on a daily basis, certainly didn't help any.

Son decided he'd pop in from 800 miles away to spend a few days with us & get some deer hunting in with the old man, so naturally it's going to rain cats & dogs for then next couple of days. Like he said yesterday, though, deer will move in the rain if they have to, and we'll at least be under roof & not getting rained on.

He just texted me a little bit ago; he's made it into OH...left Racine @ 1:45 his time...should be here sometime this afternoon.

Hopefully you guys are able to get some deer.

Quote: We'll probably see some, but I'll be surprised if any of them will be shooters; haven't seen any in 3 weeks of steady looking (counting xbow & black powder)

Noticed yesterday that my feeder wasn't dispersing corn like it has been. Carried 5 gal. down there, figuring the 1st 5 gal had finally run out. Discovered the wire from the motor has been pulled loose or chewed through...danged tree rats. There's now 5 gal of corn scattered around on the ground. Sure glad I haven't filled the thing to the top, like I normally do.
