EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

Yeah, he said that if he wrote the nurses RXs he'd just have to write them for the docs also.

Now that I'm retired I just want chickens. More chickens. Must have more chickens. Well actually I want bantams now that I have 34 regular chickens who are doubling as grain sucking mooches at the moment. Oh, except for 3-6 month old pullets that gave me their first eggs today. Geesh, I was hiding my face with a hoodie when I was forced to buy a dozen eggs last week. The shame.

I have some just don't want to fire up the bator.

Yea hard to keep pumping feed into them with nothing to show for it. Several pullets are producing for me as well.

Well to give them the benefit of a doubt, they are just now finishing up molting. But I saw one of the roosters dancing for a hen the other day and just told her she couldn't keep her new feathers unruffled forever and pointed at a nesting box. The Welsummers were great last year, laying all through the winter but this year they are on the ova retention program.
