EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

@ChickenCanoe@Chaos18 I will pull the east plexiglass, but not the west due to weather and the fact that the roost is between the windows. Also it is open all along the top under the tin. I built it with hardware cloth and a four inch opening all the way across except for the rafters sitting on it. Then I put boards in between the rafters after the gap to enclose it so there was a ventilation gap all the way yet nothing can get in.

This is my least ventilated coop. 8" in the front down to 4" at the back. Open year round regardless of weather. Roosts are below the ventilation. Never had a problem.

I continue to be flummoxed by the number of people on BYC wanting to make their own chicken feed. Apparently to save money or create something more nutritious. Neither of those things are possible at home.

I bought 10 bags of feed at Farm&Home yesterday. All were made by Nutrena.
A 40 lb. bag of scratch was $10.49 and bagged in October.
A 50 lb. bag of 18% all flock pellets manufactured a week ago was 10.29.

You know you might be a wee bit too obsessed with incubating when..... You start having dreams about your bator running a low temperature.
