EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

I covered the tractor in this gazebo canopy. I put a Rubbermaid on its side and put a thick layer of shavings. They're avoiding it. :/

Hey, I have never changed mine.

BTW I grew something in my garden called a Jerusalem artichoke. Would you suggest a simple way to fix it that might be good for me to try it?
Jerusalem artichokes are one of the best sources of sugar to make alcohol fuel. The only thing better is sugar cane.

@casportpony The hen that I cleaned her butt and gave ivermectin to on Sunday is not up on the roost, but down by the hardware cloth opening on the floor of the coop. I tried to put her up after taking a couple of photos for you, but she went back to where she had been. I am worried especially since she is one of my four breeders for the spring.
I am going to read back and then try again to post pictures. BYC is giving me fits.

Was she looking for fresh air?

@ChickenCanoe Here he is eating the meal worms I put out. It looks so bad

That really looks bad. Does he hate you now, and me?
I don't get it. Your temps and humidity is almost the same as mine.
I took these pics of roosters in buildings the last couple days with huge windows on both east and west walls at roost height. The wind blows right through and I don't worry about the cold. I hope this helps.

@Sally Sunshine I have talked to CC and we are insure.

I have not given probiotics to chickens before except yogurt and it has been awhile. She is also not going up to roost. Less energetic than normal, but not bad.

How are the kids and pups?
I put Gro2Max in chicks first water and occasionally through their lives.

Where did everyone go?

Did you see anything today? @kwhites634
I went to get new glasses. My distance (20') ones were lost and the other pair lost a lens. Now I have glass instead of glasses.

@ocap Hi, do you or your wife have a suggestion about a decent inexpensive compass? I can't afford a fancy one.
Since you will already know where you are and have a map, I recommend a clear baseplate compass. They're pretty cheap.

The kind I had at my brother's house was mostly for finding the NSEW direction to a point of reference like a peak

It's SOOOOO slow!!!! I never thought the Naked Neck thread would be faster than this one!

I'm about to try to make maple syrup candy for the first time. Wish me luck!
