Hi Beautiful!!!! I live in that time frame.....
Thanks! I did not put anything over the lights they don'tseem to be close enough but my brother in law says if I did that it might help hold more heat (though it holds fine) so I may add some of those and a few heat banks before I set the next batch (which I'm hoping are ducks eggsSweet! Never saw the inside of one of them! Did you put anything on the lid to prevent the lights from burning them or it doesnt effect it? well done! Reminder when its lockdown to place screening on the rack or .....A GOOD IDEA FOR SOME STYROFOAM INCUBATORS
COVER THE BOTTOM WIRE GRATE with A SMALLER TYPE OF SCREENING
CHICKS can get broken legs in these large sized wire grates
EXAMPLES Window SCREEN, or DOLLAR store rubber Shelf mat with the holes
see below:
Note: foam grip drawer mat on the wire bottom of incubator on day on day 18 lockdown. A cloth, crinoline, or paper towels could work as well. This ALSO protects the navel, the place where the abdomen closes after surrounding the remains of the yolk, from injury. It also makes cleaning the incubator easier. NO the wire on the incubator bottom should not injure or effect your chicks after they hatch. Dollar store baskets are great to keep hatching chicks separated by breed.
) Thanks Sally! I put some window screening down on top of that before I put the eggs in so we'll see how that works.the bubble does those big bubbles itself the way it made and yep I have to hob filters rated for 40_50 gallons each on a 36 gallon.wow it sure is clean!! very pretty! Your bubble stone is best putting out as tiny bubbles as it can CH, sometimes when you bury in rocks they get to big and dont put the oxy in the water they should... I love that you have a double sponge filter!
got pics and a story to go with how you got it?
