Not only do they import but breed as well, the imported stock as well as the offspring they choose to keep! Still I am in agreeance with everyone here, way too much for my wallet to handle! I wish I could afford to produce beautiful birds, and help with the rare breeds numbers increasing, but its something for not just the backyard hobbyist, but the full time chook keeper!And $99 for the Deathlayer chick.
GFF is an importer, which, as I understand, is very expensive and cumbersome. I think that's why their prices are what they are (that and supply and demand, being the first or sometimes only place in the country where some of these breeds/varieties are available). That being said, I'm not paying that either...
(Well, if I win the lottery and buy a farm, i may get those Deathlayers...)
