EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

oh man, how bad in there?
Mornin Jess!

Yes this is correct, and btw I am sure Raphie dear was joking, he is quite the jokester, somewhat like you!  And I must admit I too cannot stand canned tuna :sick

Bad enough that there's no way we can get out of it lol. It's only dripping, not pouring in so it should be ok with a patch till summer but in the run, a branch feel down and broke a hole through the roof too :/

Local TSC doesn't have it. I found this on my way out....down to 9 now, assuming none of the others got taken. What in the world would kill, in broad daylight (unless it happened last night before I put them up) and only eat the neck, leaving the rest untouched? Feathers scattered over a 10' area...one of my pullets. That's the head on the left, mostly intact
Oh no, sorry for your loss :( Was this one of Tucker's daughters?

Sure was. Was going to process it, but DW's afraid the hawk (if that's what it was) might be carrying some disease that could have been spread throughout the carcass. What ya think?

My husband is a germophobe so he'd probably say no way. But me, I don't know, maybe process and feed to the dogs. If the damage is all in the neck and it just happened, I don't think it would be bad to eat.

I would be a bit leary of it. Not knowing when it died or what the hawk had been picking at before it got her.

Can't fix a leaky roof in the rain; no need when it's not raining  :P

True and it's only dripping when it rains heavy. Which is pretty much the way it's supposed to be for the next 10 days. Got a towel catching the drips right now a friend at work has offered to come over tomorrow and help.

Nope I wouldn't mess with it. Too bad though darn hawks. They got three of my Orpington hens. Just ate the back out of them.
