Bathroom vents I understand. How do roof jacks tie in with them?
There's an abs pipe that vents the sinks. These pipes go through the roof jacks that are placed on the roof at the time roofing is going on.

That's not necessarily true depending on the primary roofing material.
There's a great product I use called Quad. It is instantly waterproof, can be applied at any temperature and comes in virtually all colors.
It may harm EPDM but for steel, plastic, asphalt, TPO it works great.
There's an even better product but the name escapes me.
Quad is carried by Lowe's and some other building supply companies. HD may have it too.
True and it's only dripping when it rains heavy. Which is pretty much the way it's supposed to be for the next 10 days. Got a towel catching the drips right now a friend at work has offered to come over tomorrow and help.

Quote: Ok......roof flashing around pipes....got it. I was picturing someone jacking up the roof, but couldn't imagine why anyone would want to do that....figured it must be a CA thing.
That storm that rolled in last night messed my backyard up something terrible. I had to go revise how things were held down several times... glad I made solid coups, or they would have blown around too lol... woke up and saw this outside my window:
Yes, their run is PVC and fencing/mesh...I didn't glue it together so I can take it down easier once I move...

Hope the roof gets fixed up before the next dump and wind...water damage is not fun to deal with later...

Skunks are just as wasteful, not as hard to keep out though. Are you able to trap the weasel or is it too hard to trap.
Quote: How old is your roof? Maybe the roof cement around the top of the flashing has dried out & cracked. If you have a shingle roof you may have lost a couple tabs in the heavy winds.
