Your neighbor's worse than my uncle, then! My son tells me of trucks, cars, vans, even going through the ice in southern WI, then having the recovery vehicles go through, as well. I'll pass, TYVM. I'd love to go ice fishing sometime, but I wouldn't sit out in the cold & wind hunkered over a hole. I'd want to be in a heated shanty, so I could worry about the shanty sinking 'cause the heater melted the ice.

Those are Wisconsin people and worse yet Southern Wisconsin people.

They all want to be Minnesotans but just can't, so they try to do the things we do, but never as well as we do it, hence, they fall in and get wet....

To be honest I cannot think of the last time I heard of someone drowning while ice fishing. There might be some early in the season that fall through and drown but not many. Those that do then are considered "thinning the herd" to keep the smarter better ones. (Darwin Award winners)

You want a real treat sit in a dark house spearing fish and have a Muskrat pop out of the hole into you house. I had that happen once. most people have had it happen. You will need a new pair of undies when it does.
