EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

OMG, I was just reading this and the other thread. SOOOOOOO funny!!!! You didn't kill the thread, I was goo-gooing over my little chicks. The little Marans miracles are the most forward, spunky amazing chicks! I also think they are all part jumping bean. When I open the door of the brooder, one of them actually HURLS himself at me, and has already hopped up to my shoulder. We're at DAY 3 of life, friends. :ep

I know, right? CRAZY!!!!! And one of these lost 22%+ moisture from the shell and I was convinced wouldn't make it.

Gotta tell you, I'm actually tempted to collect more of the marans eggs to incubate some more (in the hopes that they are still fertile from Goodwin) - to make sure I get plenty of pullets. (Hoping the OTHER eggs I have cooking, on day 7, that are Goodwin x Arbequina, my olive egger, will also produce well. May keep a cockerel form one of these two groups - though I certainly don't need more...)

Collecting some of my altsteriers now that they are laying. Your right really don't need more but....

I saw another line of them on eBay and really tempted to get that for a different blood line of them.
