If the ground were dry enough, that would work fine, but my truck would just sit there & spin on wet ground. The tire tread isn't aggressive enough; been down that road too many times.
Is it too late to grow longer arms?

Quote: None of them, either. I don't have any need for hay bales since I no longer raise horses.

I don't process more than 4 or 5 at a time. I actually use a sort of deep large bin that I get at a restaurant supply store, filled with ice. I do all the processing up to finishing outside on a fishing table, and kill, pluck, and eviscerate one before going to the next. After 2 or 3, I take them in to sit in the extra fridge while I finish the others. I use the bin because it's easier to move around/carry than a cooler for me. (I process in a little nook down a few deck steps, and it's not really a clear path to get from there to the kitchen, so rolling doesn't help).
But you're now making me wonder about those rolling square ones. That would make it all less rushed - I'll have to look into that. Thanks for the idea.![]()

Was the Naked Neck parent NN or Nn? (Little or big bowtie?) Because of the way the N gene works, you would only get fully feathered offspring if that parent wasNNNn (oops), because not all chicks would receive a copy of the N gene. For instance, In my cross between Tank and the GNH girls, all the chicks are Naked Necks (with big bowtie), because Tank is homozygous NN. One of the reasons I set more of Puppy's eggs is that she is Nn and Snape is Nn, so I have a chance of fully feathered offspring (which I don't want and won't keep). Switch is NN, so any baby with Snape is going to be Naked Neck. Over time I want to enrich my flock for NN homozygous - makes crosses easier (you get all naked necks regardless).
Good morning everyone it's still raining but we still have the power back.![]()
Quote: Still dragging a bit, but not so bad. I'm only cutting back to 1 full-caff cup a morning this week. Next week I'll try to cut to half of that. Thanks for asking!![]()

They keep our hawks distracted and are easier prey than the chickens, so I don't mind them. But between hawks, foxes, and cats, they don't have much of a chance around here...

Quote: No, not really, just trying to figure out how I'm going to drive a dozen 8' T-posts from ground level, so I don't have to set up a ladder on an uphill slope.
