And, I may add, wasn't for the original job being advertised

I wouldn't move for all the krona in Iceland!!

See there is the problem.. You're confused.........Corona is from Mexico!

You ranted early about not dealing with BCYers again, but didn't explain. ????

Long story...

I Just got a bunch of red flags, that made it apparent to me that selling the eggs would just be a PITA, I was in a no win position, I prefer win-win so I backed out. The person was not happy..

I've got 100 beds! Everyone is invited to Mardi Gras.

I'm in.

Ok, here's a pick of my first serious incubator. I am going to make a member page (but I'm on my cell right now and too lazy to walk to my computer), and I PROMISE I will update as the hatch progresses and keep everyone up to date! Not starting hatch until February 26.

The wooden box has two computer fans, one for intake and one for blowing out past the heating elements behind that metal grate. DH tells me if one element goes out, another will take over. The thermostat is underneath the egg shelf near the intake fan. The shelf has sides on it so chickies don't fall off. The whole thing is SUPER quiet.
Looks good. Keep us updated. Keep in mind the chicks become quite mobile and can jump.

1/6 eggs looking VERY dead, as in chuck-that-thing-quick-before-it-starts-smelling dead.

One very odd one, seems dead but leaving in just in case.... Development is lesser than the 4 live ones, but it almost seems like the chorio-allantoic membrane developed incorrectly??? It's patchy.
Patience.

Help! I've had great success with a still air incubator. I heard using a forced air is even better so I bought one and checked the temperatures to make sure it's working properly and all checks out. But now I'm having a significant drop in hatch success rate. What's going on?? I live in Texas so we don't have too much cold. So, I know that's not the problem. I have noticed that the incubator gets dryer than the other on humidity rate. It gets down to 20 humidity. This time it seems like my air cells are smaller but maybe that's just my opinion. Please, anyone help me know what to do????
The air movement could be lowering humidity but not if your air cells are small.
The big advantage of forced air is that, theoretically, the temp will be the same top, bottom and middle - rather than hot high and cool low.
Since your experience has been good with still air, I suggest you start weighing your eggs so you know exactly how much weight they're losing rather than going by humidity.
I also recommend a guaranteed accurate thermometer so you can remove that variable.

What was your new hatch rate? Did they hatch early, late or on time?
a single salmon egg on a tiny number 14 dry fly hook..... 80 feet down
I got dinner anyways.... Gonna fry these up tonight and take it to my wife's work so she can share them with her Co worker..... Fresh fried whitefish
That's awesome. They're down pretty deep huh?

Approximately 18" depending on the forearm length.
Some longer than others, as per Braveheart.

It is a female Cube.
I thought that was a cubette. Like a doover and a dooverette.

Note to self:

Don't try to put a a check that's wet on one end into the ATM

I laid a check & my debit card on the passenger's seat when I left the house this morning, not realizing the seat was wet 'cause the rain had been driven through the crack I leave at the top of the window to let the pipe smoke out.

The ATM couldn't read the check, and tried to eject it, but the wet end caused it to jam. I'm pretty sure the next customer is going to have an unpleasant surprise. Waiting for the bank to open in another 20 minutes so I can alert them.

Please let us know how that works out.

My others are not half the size of the toads... They are just amazing birds, if I do say so myself.
What kind of birds are toads? Or are they really toads?
