Just realised- In four days, it will have been exactly one year since I started incubating.

Wow - I just checked my records - I set my first eggs on January 20 last year (right after Dumbledore got attacked).

@kajira You might try getting some of the shredded beet pulp that has molasses. You can soak and feed that to get some water into your horse. I hope you find an answer.

We feed her that, to get her to gain weight. And molasses.

Banty, If you have been incubating for a year and nothing is hatching, just give it up and throw the eggs out, Try again next year..

Lol, you guys say I'm good but I'm not, I've only been incubating a little over a month (my first eggs went in on the 21st of December) I still have SO MUCH to learn.

Dan you are not good! You are evil. Throw out every egg that looks like a duck egg and you might still have a chance to save your soul!!



BTW Why candle? I only candled a few eggs at day 8 to see if I needed to change roosters. I have had 2 hatches before this so I knew it was a possibility. I was eyeing up the bull pen today to see who is going in. I think I have them picked out.

If you have the room why throw them oot (Icelandic Speeling)?  I wait until I know they are worthless on day 18 unless I need the space...


I just did a quick candle of some eggs.  I will be making some Substitutions tomorrow. Ed is being pulled for bad pitching, and the Maran rooster will be joining Ed in the bull pen.  I need rooster with some sex drive that can hit the target.

Dear, you got chicks on your first hatch, you built a working bator, and you set more immediately after. You're a natural.
