One of the cream legbars patiently squatted and waited for him to do the deed - he's got horrible balance and aim. He finally gave up, but she stayed down for a little while longer as if to say, "Are you sure you don't want to try again? Because that didn't cut it..."

no-this is usually my "go to' with most wounds...

I didn't speak up cause I'm no vet. But I've recommended the Lambert Kay EMT Gel (they say OK for all animals, bird, mammal, reptile) many times after having a bad wound on our mountain cur, don't know where he got it from, runs like a greyhound could have happened anywhere. Huge gash down deep into the meat on his chest/ shoulder. I caught it pretty late, wasn't bleeding anymore, one of the kids actually pointed it out, something wrong with Harley....WOW!!!! Called a buddy of mine with coon hounds, that's what he said to use, sprayed it with iodine, betadine? Than the Lambert Kay stuff pushed down into the wound, put a cone on his head, that didn't last long Lol! Went berserk over the cone. It was pretty amazing, I felt so bad when I saw it I knew he should go to a vet but no $$ and pretty sure too late to sew it up but that stuff he healed it so good, even grew hair back on the wound spot and I really didn't think that would happen. I mentioned it on another thread, OZ, ozpat? don't remember his user name, in the Philippines and in the medical field here at some point in life? I never followed his thread, actually said it was good stuff and they have been using it on people.

Oh nice, thanks for that. I hope your project is going good! I like how my rainbow over the Partridge Rock did, the 2 offspring are nice sized! I think I'm going to keep the pullet to cross back to dad and process the cockerel!

What is that red shouldered rooster you have, I just got 1 today to process for a freind, he's a big guy like yours too but nasty mean!

Sounds about right on the tramadol. We give our 50 pound Australian Cattle Dog a half a 50 and it pretty much snows him. A quarter  seemed to give him relief without too much sedation.

If I make it to March first without firing up my Brinsea, I'm going to be amazed. I need chicks. Littles. Bantams! Little Peeps. Sad day. Buried my little Lavender Orpington/Buff Orpington cross pullet today. She was undersized for her age. Never laid. Think one of the Roosters crushed her mating. She got better then yesterday she wouldn't eat. Found her dead this morning. Same as her sire. Flat on her back with her feet up. Heart? Probably. Oh well.........I need chicks...littles.....bantams.....little peeps......

YOU STILL DIDNT SET EGGS!!! oh my!!!  tapping foot      cheep cheep cheep  can you hear those little chickies beggin for attention?

Lotsa errands and chores (making up for sleeping late). Taking a little down time before starting back up again. I really should make yogurt tonight... (But I also need to bake bread - maybe I'll do it tomorrow.) This week I'm going to be trying to recreate  those Starbucks Sous Vide egg bites - I have one of those things (a gift last year), and heaven knows I have enough eggs...
