No, it's the bottoms of four of those thin clear plastic 6-egg cartons, with the bottom cut out. Worked well in this case.
Thanks! I don't have them any more (see sad story above), but hope to have more very soon! (If the weather cooperates for shipping of chicks, I'll get them in a couple weeks.)

Yes, some folks have had cracked eggs hatch, I've not tried it. I can't recall what it was that folks used, I think one of those liquid bandage things. But hopefully someone who has done it will pipe up...Thank you so much! I will be sure to read everything! I hope I get the same experience. Out of the 12 eggs, 2 were cracked in half, 2 had small cracks, and 8 looked fine. For the 2 that aren't that badly cracked, I heard that I can patch the crack with scotch tape? Is this true?
Uhhhhh.... Being compulsive about reading all the stuff? Harassing Sally and the thread on a near daily basis? Having Joey and Yokel saving my bacon by answering my post late at night when the air cells started growing too fast?
I received a lot of cracked broken eggs in that shipment, 18 were intact and I set those. 12 made it to lockdown. 8 hatched (one was not well and had to be euthanized).

I gotta say its the bator!!! I had my 4H buddy hatch some and he got a 75% hatch rate! 16 years old-new to incubating followed brinsea directions and a really nice hatch!!! If this one flubs, I'm breaking out the cabinet on april fools!!!
Lovely!!!!!

Scotch tape works a dream.![]()
Don't use too much though as the rest of the shell needs to "breath"
