Good advice on keeping the room warmer.
I was incubating in the cellar which stays in the upper 50s. Currently incubating in an upstairs bedroom in the 60s.
I plan on running a gas line to an office in the cellar and using gas heat to raise the temp in there to 80 or 90 and see how that affects incubator performance.

Except I won't be buying any heaters from Walmart.

Being a poor old person on a pension, I need to buy thing from Walmart.  If they were cheaper at Macy's I would buy them there.

Ralphie, are you able to make money on the chicks you sell? 

Most of us loose $$ hands down and just do it for fun (well selling them and kidding ourselves that we are actually making $$)

It would be good to hear that someone is successful.

One of the first breeders in Israel made from ONE breed only, HRIR, more then 200,000 shekels! (54,000$) in less then 6 years period.

Only one lonely rhodebar hen now. I used to have them though. I do have a RIR roo though. I wonder how pairing the rodebar hen with the RIR roo would turn out?

I think the first one looks pure Swede. Also there's between 11 and 12 other pips e which means there's only 5 or 6 unpipped eggs (they may be pipped too but in such a way that I can't see them)
