From what I understand, it's something like 40 gallons of sap to make one gallon of syrup

I skipped a ton of pages after seeing how me "friends" were ratting me out and wanting to fry me.....

I made it a couple years. A word to the wise.. DO NOT BOIL IT DOWN IN THE HOUSE..

I had to sleep with both eyes open for months after I did that. Every wall and ceiling in the house was sticky. BUT it smelled good.

It really take a lot of sap to make syrup. And if you want a real treat boil in beyond syrup and make candy.....WOW

It can cause diabetes with less than a ounce it is so good!

I'm fairly sure you can get diabetes just looking at that stuff.

I bought permetherin and Elector PSP even though it was ridiculously expensive. Tried the permetherin first but was gagging from the smell-just like gasoline fumes. Felt like it was an impossible project to tackle-mostly by myself and one handed. Came up with a system that made it a little more streamline but still disgusting. Laureen is in Vegas so i am hoping she will be back tomorrow and help me with whatever I cant do myself. The wrist say no more tonight so I will enjoy a bottle of wine and live to fight again tomorrow

I spoke to a person today, A real life human, A woman even.

She drove up my drive, past the "Keep Out" Biosecurity Area signs..... Past the "Employees only beyond this point" sign and walked through the door into my Pole barn with the "No Admittance, Biosecurity area, keep out"...

She then came face to face with Bert. and I heard a scream. Followed by "GD that is one big chicken"....

Teach her to not read...
It was my mother. << She got caught.

Lol, thanks for the tip! We were planning to cook some down tomorrow in the house lol. We got about 7 gallons today! From 6 trees! I never expected to get that much. As it is, we're pretty sure that we're going to have to run or abs empty the caps tonight around midnight again since it's not supposed to drop below freezing tonight. We waited 2 1/2 hours between our last trip around and ask the sap almost couldn't fit in our bucket! We calculated that we have enough sap to make almost 3 cups of syrup right now lol
