Wife was in line at store. Somehow she and the person in line with her got to talking about chickens. She told them we had chickens and they wanted to know why. Well he raises them to sell eggs for feed and we also have meat birds. Person in line says why do you do that? Because we don't like the way some of the store bought chickens are raised. The lady then asked if they taste like chicken.

Wife held laughter till she got in the car.

On that note we are cooking up one of the Altsterier chickens today. Took from January 2016 to get enough to cull one.

You saw my list of things I wanted to tell people on the Minnesota thread didn't you?

. I HAD chickens. A bunch.

And you have chickens now. It is kind of your duty to tell the people how great the chickens were.....and how not so great the ducks were..

I collected a Pekin egg today. I walked out of the coop, and smashed it on the ground. I don't want anymore ducks! Duckling can have other animals!

But she can't play with the chicks in a pot on the stove....


I worry the WWD might get ducks some day.......She liked them at the poultry shows last year. I would be busy doing important things, like talking Turkey or chicken and she would come over and drag me to look at a duck.


She really liked the little call ducks, which is worse than having a dux, it would be like owning a miniature Chihuahua. Other than soccer dog practice what good are they?

Nope. I do not have anymore chickens. I was almost (well I was) giddy with joy when we finally got rid of them. I can't tell people chickens are great and ducks aren't, Lying is bad!

I have my first Partridge Chanticler of the year!!!

Changing the batting lineup made a difference. Weinerhead is way more aggressive with the girls than his Dad, Ed was. Ed took no for an answer. Weinerhead doesn't!


I sure hope Weinerhead Jr is a boy! I need an early rooster, the Chantilcer Club show is in Minnesota this year and I want to win it!

Calls are not big enough for one, they are the Cornish game hens of the duck world... I am a growing boy, I need a full meal.
