I didn't, but Thanks.
That dam of yours can't take much more, can it? Could get real nasty real quick.

Morning Heather how's the rest of the chickens doing from the dog attack.
When you make a cake, you don't mess around!

Quote: Best I can tell - I had to glance quickly on the way out. The NNs were foraging like nothing happened ("What?!"). Crazy tough birds...
Quote: The roof panel is still mostly on (I have someone who's going to help repair it), birds are fine. When I get home I'll check the yard to see where the flow of the flood waters/runoff went...
Happy belated birthday, Whites!!!!!@kwhites634 HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY!![]()

grats on the hatch.
Well - 2 nights of no power right before hatch, I just went into lock down today, so we will see what happens this week. They were alive when I candled them yesterday before my power went out, again. LOL![]()

Well, if you like them for their own sake, that's certainly the best reason to keep them. I just get amused following the "fads" in chicken breeds and varieties...Nah, I was not freaked out, I wasn't swearing, that's how you can tell. I actually told someone I think he has White Legbars confused with white leghorns, I was trying to be Mr Helpful again and have him re-think what he had. Also I hate to embarrass people being the sweet kind guy I am. I kind of figured it out when he called them CCL which is no longer and accepted term in the Legbar community...
BTW I know I should sell them now, BUT I so like them, I am actually thinking of getting rid of my "normal" legbars and keep just the white. Besides, my reasoning is when the breed is accepted Whites will have a better shot at winning Best of Breed over the cream or crele. Judges (around here anyways) seem to like white over colors (in all breeds) because it is easier to judge and less subjective.
Yikes! Yup, got nailed bad, but my lot is sloped and water doesn't stand, it runs through (in a big storm, there's an impromptu creek that runs through the yard). You can bet the rain barrels are all filled to the top now...
Pleeeeeeease?! We'd LOVE photos!!!I would say something, but my ducks are LOVING the flooded fields....... and I don't want to traumatize you by posting all the happy duck pictures.![]()

I want to myself, but the land I'd get would be at a distance from where I live, so I wouldn't be able to care for it because of the commute. But I do sometimes look at land south of San Antonio (that's where the good farm land and pasture is - north is rocks and hill country, which is oddly more expensive land, but less likely to have good soil or water). What I'd really love is if one of my next door neighbors were to sell me their house (1.5 acres on one side, 2 acres on the other), but both of those houses are in families, and unlikely to be sold...Always buy land when you can.
