EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

@jwlpoultry and@Fire Ant Farm @kajira and others who asked. I told Sally that you guys sent concern and best wishes. She said thanks you guys. Her neck hurts really bad, and holding up the cell to type s***** a**.
She sounded pretty miserable and in need of prayer.

Does anyone have her address from eggs where we could send her flowers I know she would rather have a drink, but that can't happen @mlm Mike could you do it for me or us if we sent you the money?

I'll help if we get it worked out.

Hello! I need a little help. I've four eggs in the incubator. 21 days was today, about 6 hours ago. Two pipped overnight and two were still just internally pipped. I candled one and made it a little pip. I candled the other, which had a gigantic saddle-shaped air sac and made a guess at where the beak was. It wasn't there, so I made a new pip and expanded it until I found the beak (per the directions in the guide to assisted hatching!). This one is in there backwards but it's head is still in the air sac, it is so deep. Now I am waiting and giving it time....... But I'm wondering what will be the next step. If I end up needing to assist further, will I continue to zip along where a regular air sac would be (without the dip), removing the portion where its feet are?

It sounds like you have it handled. Just stop if there's any bleeding. Nothing's really late till tomorrow and I've had them hatch on their Into the 22 day mark.

I don't know why I'm so friggin' tired this week. Just finished all my "must do" chores (though there are plenty of "should do" chores still left). Dax, one of those tasks was to finish one of the big new MHPs, so I took more photos. (I won't narrate this time - all the text in the last one would apply.) The tubing is actually from a food grade self-draining hose that I had around that had gotten damaged, so I'm repurposing it (too expensive to buy and then cut up for that purpose) - so just be creative with whatever you have to take care of the sharp edges. Duct tape is fine, but you'll need multiple multiple layers.

Warning - photo bomb.
