your welcome. I can't resist sharing the cuteness. I hope the two new Saanen kids will be out this afternoon. Right now they eat and sleepVery nice and the rain that is expected tomorrow may fizzle as well.
Morning thanks for the kid pics.

Here it was 79 yesterday very hot for this time of year, and 21 this morning. My poor kids were shivering. I put out the microwavable heat pads and a heat reflecting pad for the night. This morning after feeding they were put out to run. Or play king of the hill as the case may be![]()

Yes, for bean roasting, that was what made me start looking (though I do have a plug in burner I suppose I could take outside). I would likely use brick - very simple design, non permanent. But have read about issues with safety of using concrete or red brick, so I've got on my "to do eventually" list to visit a building supply place here to get some fire bricks - will use those. Fire bricks are more expensive than regular (but I don't want exploding concrete or red brick in my yard), but it looks to be a good plan. I have an old asphalt pad under my red oak tree (where, long long ago, there was a carport), so I was going to put it on that.

@daxigait
Duckling went from a miserable germ factory with a frog nebulizer Wednesday, to a happy little kid yesterday.
From snot bubbles to soap bubbles!

Hi Pensmaster! We were at 74 yesterday, today it is 44, at least it's not freezing.
sorryBanty do you have a pic of an infected yolk sack? I had several that weren't absorbed, but malposition seemed to be the worst problem. I am wondering if they like the temp and humidity a little higher during hatch and the 65%. Thats my next try. Had to cull my malay-he was so sweet and active but he was badly deformed and trying to walk on his knees because his feet were completely twisted backwardRIP Curly.![]()
OOOH PICK ME I WANT ONE!!!I'm watching Harry Potter movies tonight. I want a hippogriff.
What do you think would be involved in hatching them - anyone tried before?
Great news that they got a bunch and are doing repairs@Pensmaster - guess what?! I got my roof fixed today (well, the flapping panel part). I had hired "Critter Control" because there were raccoons living in the walls of my house. They are a little pricey, but they are VERY good - they set traps, will come and deal with emptying them (and relocating the animals), resetting them, etc. for a few weeks, and they also do an evaluation to see how they're getting into the house and IMPORTANTLY, they will do repairs to block those spots up at a very reasonable cost - they are handyman-type repairs, but ones I can't do myself. Roof repair cost me $49. 9In the past, raccoons had torn a big hole in the side of my house at the attic level - they did an amazingly secure repair.)
Oh, and we've gotten 3 raccoons so far, including the main big male that I think was the one living in my house walls...

I love those movies and books! I'm right there with you! It's a Harry Potter character. He knows how to hatch dragon eggs, so I figure he knows hippogriffs. (Yeah, so, I'm a geek...)![]()
Something is banging, and it's making the dog bark. I'm not sure if I'm more afraid of danger or that the dog is going to wake Duckling.![]()
LOL, you should NOT do it in the house! talk about sticky messes, and maple mist EVERYWHEREHoly crap! Ain't seen the 'rustic' way of boiling in a 'cauldron'except for the Farmers Museum in Cooperstown next to the Baseball Hall of Fame.![]()
Awesome!![]()
I just boil with wood in a old water bath canner on a barrel stove outside. Though I did do about 20gals of sap in our house today on propane and not all the way![]()
Supposed to get in the 20s here both sat and sun, and next thur, fri sat, hopefully....
Never thought I'd be complaining about it being warm here Lol!![]()
Was absolutely summer like here today, almost 70! Don't see any buds on the trees though, and still a few inches of hard ice/snow everywhere.
Fun!!!Did you know I was reading about how long it takes to tame a piglet, and apparently, I'm a super mom pig? Sara likes me already ^.^
Granted, she doesn't come to me when I call her yet, but if I go into my daughters room, she willingly lets me touch her with out squealing, or running away for the most part. (which apparently is piglet progress that some people take like 4-6 weeks of daily handling to achieve.)
Now.... I just need to get her to come when called, so when she's outside, i'm not pig wrastling. ^.^
Good morning all
Waking up then bird chores. I swear all my serama girls are broody right now.![]()

hi, how many chcklets this week?Hello all.
Sorry I was gone for a couple days, it has been busy here. I have not read back and will not so every insult "certain Persons" threw my direction will go by me as complete misses.
I guess the 3/4 degree low in the end trumps the high temps at the beginning.

Well, friends, I see we've been relegated to being a "waste of time"![]()
How do you have eggs this early? My hens lay all day long, and I don't collect until about 5pm.
(Or do you collect multiple times a day to catch them before they freeze? If so, whadda pain - and I'll remind you of this the next time you defend your ice-encrusted kingdom up there, Elsa.![]()
well color me green with envyWell, Spring has DEFINITELY sprung here in the past day or two. It was chilly this morning for south Texas (46F), and yet all the trees are starting to explode with teeny bits of green. JUST like that "Spring Green" crayon in the coloring box... The mesquite leafing out is the definitive sign, and here we go!
I should get back to work on chores and clearing/preparing the growout pens. Have a wonderful day, everyone!!!

@DwayneNLiz I hope you get a good ride in. I love the multi quotes you and @Fire Ant Farm do. It at least makes you a great thread friend noticing and responding to people.
