EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

Quote:
Already did - much better now (and not so much piling up). That;s the advantage of the hoop type shape, is that you can sort of spring out the sides to lower the whole thing without disturbing the chis too much. (It was too tall because I was in a crunch for time and this was one of the ones that had been with some 4 week olds earlier and I had arched it up).

They're warming up and exploring now:

I counted at least 11 that are running back and forth to food and water. We'll see how the other sleepy ones are as they warm up.

(I'm going to go post the different pics to show how cold chicks behave along the edges over on the MHP thread.)

Happy to see some are out and about now!

I wanted to state a few facts about Marans that I personally noted

they are messy poopy stinky butt birds as they are growing out, I have twenty split between coops because they are so gross. I cant wait to process the boys and get them out of here, I was told they need to go because they are the most disgusting dirty birds I have ever had, even more so than the cornish X

to think I just wanted two bcm hens and ended with twenty hatching
