EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

EXCELLENT!
what temp did you run?  fan or no fan?
how old were eggs? washed or no?  turned in cool spot during storage? shipped or your own? how old is flock?

Eggs were a week old or less and they were kept in a cool spot during storage with big end up. No fan for first week but got new incubator with fan for last two. I ran 101-102 without fan, but temp did fluctuate a lot and with fan it's staying pretty constant around 99.3-99.7. Not shipped eggs and not my eggs either, we drove 1.5 hours to get the eggs and I don't know the age of the flock. I don't know if she washed the eggs but I know I didn't.

Quote: ok, so you have four thermo hygros and you honestly feel they are acurate, like with the room temp etc? if not please calibrate.
Next, what bator a styro bator? how much flux are you getting? can you try heat sinks? round stones in the bottom or if no turner glass ball jars to help fill it up and hold heat? can you put a blanket or something around it to keep it more steady or set in a better place? no sun on and off of it? I would bump up the temp and try more for 99.7 to 100.5 in that range.

next humidity.... did you read that info I gave? what humidity did you start running at? most of us start at 30 35 and adjust after day seven as needed.

you hand turn? if so amount of times

Im ok, yes they do want it warmer, but that means all this mess is melting and yeah muddddd city for a few weeks, but I did see they want wind, and then guess what, four days of RAIN!!! ughhhhh

No, they are not shipped. I got my eggs from a local lady with thirty chickens. I don't know what they are fed or how old they are, but I have to get my eggs from her because I need eggs from around the same elevation as me. I started with a still air incubator and then got a forced air incubator after about a week of incubating.
i did see your elevation thats why i asked about the shipping
