frostbite comb killer. Poor Pen, but he is doing well otherwise. That is just a strictly summer coop now.

Hey, don't feel bad. Frostbite happens to Mediterranean roosters in MO. I just try to limit it as much as I can.
But, he didn't die did he?

Definitely not. I spent a half an hour talking about conditions for the chicks including space in temperature medicated feed especially because she was going to new ground what to put down underneath their feet at this age xcetera and she did some of them, but she is obviously woefully unprepared to handke chicks or chickens.

I hate the ones that buy chicks, come home and say - "OK, I have my chicks, now what?"

In my last class, for the first time, not one of the 20 people had chickens yet. They were doing their due diligence. I commend them when that happens.

@Sally Sunshine I hope you are well. I just wanted to give you the final hatch report. I got 4 Oliver Eggers. There was one other dead in its shell with a hole in its abdomen. The rest of the eggs were non-starters.

Quote: It's actually 73F with light rain here - everything is so green it's GLOWING. Spring is a glorious thing...

@kajira - OMG, I would need SUCH a time out if my kids did that. Probably good I don't have kids...
@Sally Sunshine - Congrats on the little gooserz, sorry about the dog seizures
@daxigait - I get really upset when I hear about folks who do this. Argh!!!! Sorry to hear.

I didn't sleep well last night - was worrying about housing, ended up getting up and pulling out all the graphs and tables and photos to start making culling decisions. So I've been a bit tired today. Came home a little early - catching up on here before going out for chores and working on the building stuff. I'm too beat to get a huge amount of stuff done today, but am planning to take partial days off for this week to try to get it all done.

Sunshine and Lollipop (the goslings) got to play outside for a while today. They're such sweet little things :) Sunshine did actually get in and splash around for a while but I was recording at the time. The video didn't even turn out :/ They follow us everywhere. Sunshine is the most cuddly and likes to be held and snuggled. Lollipop doesn't really like to be held much. They have their own brooder now since they thought chick feathers were snacks lol.

I love this picture with the little drop falling from her bill :)

I have three main thoughts about how I give coffee. The one in my mind lately is, "Do Kristin and Dax know how amazing they are?" A few others too, but I can't make the majority jealous of the few.
