GOT THE HORSE HOME. NOw I'm dying. LOL We walked him a mile in 90+ degree heat to get him back to our house. LOL I used a bucket of feed to convince him he wanted to cooperate with us.

I'm sorry, I got up at 2am - my bloodhound destroyed my kitchen, and pushed the brooder room door open, so my house cats got into the brooder. They took one of the chicks upstairs and hid it.

We found the chick, who was otherwise unharmed, but a little traumatized from being carried around by my house cats. (I am telling you, I have REALLY good, non-killing cats, except that one stupid barn cat.) They just wanted to slobber on him a little. So his feathers were a little ruffled, but he was otherwise, completely unharmed. My bloodhound sat down in front of the brooder, and didn't let my other cat take the 2nd chick, but he wouldn't have had any of the chickens taken if he hadn't pushed the door open to begin with. LOL

Why is it ALWAYS the silkie chicks, that the cats seem so fascinated by, ? Out of all the chicks, it's the lone silkie.

Don't like silkies much either. Only reason I keep mine is he's the best cockbird in terms of temperament and bravery that I have yet owned.

i told my dog he had stinky dog breath, and he made a point to lick my nose..................... i guess he wanted to share his stank.

Tried necropsy of sick hen. Got this far before the smell got to me and I decided I'm pretty sure why she looked so bad. I did not pull all that out, that oozed out due to being under pressure.


ETA: The smell reminded me of the egg that exploded in my incubator.

Good morning my friends. I hope you are having a great morning. I did chores, and then sat with my week old kids in the shed letting them play around me, and having them come up to be pet(wonderful to see my buck pass on his loving personality - friendliest Boer kids I have ever had) while it rained and rained. Since it was and is raining plus early the power was out I had a perfect excuse to stop and enjoy life. Since the chickens don't mind the storm, they were out. There was a funny moment, when one came around the shed corner. The little doelings cocked Thier heads wondering what she was
