EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

Our weather pretty well sucks but at least it's warm. Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, etc have gone from 60s/70s to heavy snow.
One of our rivers is at a record height, most of the rest are forecast to be within a foot of records. More rain coming overnight and in the morning and it won't clear out till Monday night. Then more Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
All those records were just set 2 years ago. Every couple years there are higher levels than ever before.
Saturday was a new record rainfall for the date. Also a record for a 3 day total.
My wife went to work this morning and the road was flooded so she had to go back and take another route. After she got there, they closed and sent everyone home because they were afraid they'd be stuck there as all the roads were getting flooded. That was 3 hours of driving and sitting for nothing. They called her off yesterday and they got busy later.
Two area interstates will be closed either tonight or tomorrow night. One will likely be closed for at least a day. They are usually the highest ground so lots of people will have trouble getting to work. Several state highways are going to be closed as well.
If I-44 closes, it will likely be closed for a week. I-55 closed in 2015 and may close tomorrow.

Another thing that's really bad about constantly reaching new record water levels is that a lot of water treatment plants are now getting inundated over and over. That means no water for weeks.

Blues and Cards both lost and I have gotten very little work done between raindrops.

I have a question not sure if it's been asked before... This is my second time incubating. The first time around I did every thing wrong still had them all hatch somehow. I'm wondering, in the HATCHING 101 thread it says: do not candle between days 11 - 14. Then it says Candle and mark the air cell on days 7, 14, and 18.

When on day 14 should I candle? at the end, day 15? Or is the no candling zone non-inclusive does it only actually mean not days 12 and 13? or 11, 12, and 13?

I am currently on day 13. I lost power for 7 hours 2 nights ago slept with 8 eggs on my chest under a pillow on the couch lol and want to check to see if they are still alive.

"If it ain't broke, don't fix it"
Right or wrong, whatever you did the 1st time gave you a 100% hatch; hard to get much better than that.
Nobody's going to fire you if you miss the candling schedule by a day one way or the other; don't fret.
