I've just been through a lot of breeds. Plus, I was in a hurry, so the pics aren't the greatest.

NEED HELP. Went to check on the broodies and their babies and noticed it STANK AWFUL in the house. At first I didn't know what was causing the stench, but then one of the girls got up to move around and under her you could see a broken open egg with lumpy yellowish white goo. What happened? Exploded egg was my guess. What should I do?

Wipe (gently!) what you must. Actually, spritzing the stuff off or trickling water might be better in this case. You need to be sure that you aren't pushing in bacteria, and preserving the bloom as best you can.
Change the bedding, and clean Mom's stomach.

Wipe (gently!) what you must. Actually, spritzing the stuff off or trickling water might be better in this case. You need to be sure that you aren't pushing in bacteria, and preserving the bloom as best you can.

Seriously, try leather gloves. Or just tough it out like my neighbour does.

I've had way too many broodies to count and definitely have had my fair share of mean ones - never used gloves or anything, just reach under and do it as quickly as possible.

They are! Both of them are usually the sweetest of the flock, but broodiness has taken over them. If broodiness makes sweet ducks like this, I'd hate to see what broodiness makes mean chickens like the ones I had become.
