EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

Hmm?? Doesnt seem to be showing for anyone on my end. Saw about your "missing" birds. I've got two of the first ones I processed thawing. Think the wife wants to try out some new Instant Pot contraption I bought her.
It's the upper left corner of the avatar picture. Doesn't exactly jump out at you, but it's there.

I hear those contraptions are pretty nice.

I gots ones of dem!!
I love it.. I am bad at remembering thing like taking meat out of the freezer I can throw it in the pot and be eating in 40 minutes or less.,,,,,,If I remember to lock the cover correctly...

I can throw dried beans in it and a bunch of whatever I feel like adding to it and have cowboy beans in no time. I do find I have to run it about 50 minutes or 2 cycles to get the beans real soft like us old gumpers need to have them..

"gots ones of dem"? Where'd you go to school, the institute for insane persons?

Interesting day! I went out this morning to move the demolished run away from the clean out door. After shoveling a load of bedding into the wheelbarrow, I realized I'd have to toss some into the storage area (which needs cleaned anyway). I knew I'd not be able to handle all those loads today. :th

While cleaning, I found a hidden nest with 13 eggs.

Omelette anyone?

I also found a duck egg in a cinder block. That one was easier to understand.

The area where the ducks slept was really bad. I had most of the bedding piled in a corner yesterday. The back where the ducks slept needed to dry out more. I'm not putting ducks in the coop again. :sick
So, I hauled five loads, and the chickens went through the pile like a child when you clean out their toy box.

Lots of splinters, a ton of near falls (wet poop/bedding), and one very achy back. I walked into the house, and thought I'd die! 76° in the house, and 101 on the front porch.
My shower was stressful, but I'll spare you the details. :P
The broody due today is still waiting. She did manage to get two more eggs over the last three weeks. That is okay, because the third broody has no eggs. She will happily take over the extra two.
