Get a holster & go armed, or sling the rifle across your backI am thinking coon by the way the damage was done. It is so dry and sandy I had no footprints to go on. I do see a coyote on the tree line when I don't have a rifle with me.... I am thinking of setting some snares for it now..
I doubt this was her though, she takes the body with her back to her pups. Last year she took about 20 birds from me. I was generous and allowed her to live over the winter....Generosity ended when she took that rooster. He was the one that was Best of breed at the State poultry show.
