Just the back door, more painting, and another window left and I can move the chooks in and call in the demolition crew for the old coop. Then I start over again with a 12 x 12 structure...
Building is just for night time. That's the only way I can fit 50 birds in that thing.... As soon as the old coop is down it's a race against winter to get the new one up before I can't free range any more. Black fly season is over so I should make faster progress now.

Well maybe I don't know what you call black flies. . we might be talking about two different things. I just mean normal house flies is what we call them. But they do bite. Maybe what you mean is what I would call a horse fly?
No, these things can fit thru screens and their bites swell, ooze, and itch like crazy. Benadryl doesn't help, and bug spray won't repel them. Ralphie can back me up here.
