How long do I have to wait before taking newly hatched chicks out of the incubator?

At least until they're fluffy.

As soon as the brooder is hot.
The brooder dries them out faster.
And they can't flip over the other eggs in there.

Dunno. Seems to take overnight most times, I don't pay special attention to timelines.

I used to do that, but found they're a bit hardier and less trouble if I just wait overnight and take them out then.

I ended up with 14 quail. I learned a few things the hard way with those little guys

The most important thing I learned was to put them under a heat light or on warming pads. My heater in my brooder turns off. BAD Chicken do ok with it but those little quail need constant heat.
