EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

Baby update: Honeybee is nine weeks away from D-Day and already in position. Weight and length are both average for this point in gestation, and everything else checks out as normal. If things continue we can expect a perfectly routine delivery.

Chickens are still molting but they're giving eggs again which means they're nearly finished. Husband cut back the path leading to the run so I can get back out there again and this week he'll be tackling the nettles which are threatening to take over the corner of the run.

Garden is going great, we've ordered a good chunk of next year's seed and we're saving seed this year from the corn and such. Weed screen worked great so we'll be doing that again next year (just going to replace the cut parts of the screen from this year and restake). By the time the new house is built and ready to move into next year the garden should be ready to harvest.

Glad baby is doing well!!!
I feel like this pregnancy is going sooooooooooooooooooo slow, and of course, all the pregnant women in my due-date group(s) have all these cute bellies between 13-20 weeks already! And I'm sitting over here, not looking pregnant still :(

I bet you have an adorable belly!

ok So we did our 7 day candling. Excited and bummed all at the same time.

We pulled theses......................
bad egg.jpg bad egg1.jpg
and these we marked to look at 10 days...........
egg1.jpg egg3.jpg

Now looking at this pic 3 looks like a blood ring. but a lot of our brahmas were like picture 4. and pic 4 stumbles us. almost looks clear still like not fertile???? but don't know.

When we cracked open eggs 1 and 2 they were scrambled. egg 2 had started to develop a small chick but for whatever reason (I assume rough shipping) it died.

Well we like to here what everyone thinks especially on egg pic 4.

3 looks like very early death to me, but wait. 4 does look clear to me, but again, wait. I've had some that proved me wrong.

By the way, nice photos.

Thanks as I Uploaded the pic I have to agree it looks like a blood ring in 3. And as far as 4 I have 3 more eggs that look like pic 4 . All the ? eggs (that how we marked them) went into the back turner. These I can check again at 10 days. The 13 silkies and 3 brahma eggs with stars on them will be looked at again at day 15. They all clearly showed veins, some eyes and some movement.
