Are they free range commercial or egg factory commercial? if free range give hatching them a try and find out.

@ChickenCanoe I have hatched eggs that are a month old, not a great return but some hatch. 2 weeks has very little drop from a week that I can see. My broodies run 15 eggs in the nest many times so that's over two weeks worth of laying.

For the price of a dozen eggs it would be worth the try,,IMHO...Go for it Bennie!!!!

I got mine from Peavey mart...which you don't have. I'll check where it's from. Peavey marts a large chain of animal/livestock/house stuff.
The feed comes from Chilliwack, BC...so not available in your country I wouldn't think. :(
They don't show it on their website...but I did find the feed I buy. :clap:yesss:

I have taken some of my courser crumble (when that's all I could get) stuck it in a zip lock baggie and used my scoop to crush into smaller bits...much like blending it in a blender like mentioned earlier.:)

Posts like this occur when one is 20 pages behind and does not check to see how behind they are before typing...Sorry

I found a chick starter that is very fine for my entire flock to accommodate my old english game bantams. I've also tried a prestarter, which is very fine crumble. It's more expensive, but you only feed it at the beginning. It's what I start my guinea keets out on because it's higher protein. (24%)

For waterers I use the top of an empty pill bottle if I only have a couple chicks. I can tell if they're drinking better. I'll then convert to using quail waters for all the those chicks. If I have several chicks I start with the quail waters. I find they don't dirty or get poop in them like regular waterers.

I mix my starter with water. They love it. Drink less water that way as well

Where do you find the prestarter, I have been buying high end for pretty much all my babies but the ones incubating now are going to be super tiny. I think that was a problem I had only 1 bearded d'uccle bantam and the other chicks were bantam Cochin (big size difference). Now I'll have all just the little guys buy themselves. So it will be easier to monitor
Might try sifting the ground stuff if mixing it with water doesn't work
